Chinese Embassy Reminds Chinese Citizens Traveling to the Philippines to Make Entry Preparations in Advance

release time:2026/6/15

The Chinese Embassy in the Philippines issued a statement on the 14th. It noted that recently some Chinese citizens have been detained, questioned or even repatriated at Philippine airports due to incomplete entry documents or unclear travel information. It reminded Chinese nationals heading to the Philippines to complete entry preparations in advance. The statement emphasized that visa exemption does not mean unconditional entry. Philippine immigration officials are entitled by law to verify the purpose of foreign visitors' entry and decide whether to grant admission. Foreign nationals may be denied entry if they fail to state their genuine travel purposes, present relevant supporting documents, have abnormal entry-exit records, or are suspected of illegal employment. To avoid entry disruptions and unnecessary losses, Chinese citizens are advised to ensure their passports remain valid for no less than six months. They should carry hotel bookings, round-trip air tickets and documents proving their entry purposes, and truthfully disclose their travel itineraries. Visitors also need to prepare proof of sufficient funds to cover all expenses during their stay in the Philippines, and follow rules and cooperate with inspections. The embassy further reminded Chinese citizens to guarantee all submitted information is true, accurate and consistent. Do not enter the Philippines under the guise of tourism while planning to work or engage in activities inconsistent with the declared purpose of entry.
