The Chinese Foreign Ministry hopes that the European side will work hand in hand with China to boost economic and trade cooperation.

release time:2026/6/8

Regarding the EU's recent push for relevant countries to reduce the so-called "dependence on China", Lin Jian, spokesperson for the Chinese Foreign Ministry, stated at a regular press conference on the 8th that China has elaborated on its position on many occasions. China and the EU are deeply integrated and interdependent in industrial and supply chains, a result of economic globalization and market forces, which serves the interests of enterprises on both sides.
China-EU economic and trade relations are not a zero-sum game where one side wins and the other loses. The two sides can absolutely achieve mutual success and win-win results. China holds an open and proactive attitude toward resolving economic and trade differences between the two sides. We hope the EU will meet China halfway, resolve issues through dialogue and consultation, and enable China-EU economic and trade cooperation to better benefit enterprises and people of both sides.
