At present, the Hantavirus-affected cruise ship Hondius is anchored in the waters off the port of Praia, the capital of the African country Cape Verde. The Chinese Embassy in Cape Verde issued a statement on the evening of local time on the 5th, stating that "upon verification, there are no Chinese citizens on board".
The embassy also reminded Chinese nationals in Cape Verde to strengthen health precautions.
