The head introduced the measures in four aspects. First, priority should be given to international cooperation in the transportation and export of epidemic prevention materials. After the situation of epidemic prevention and control in China became stable, resources were quickly organized and various epidemic prevention materials were quickly loaded and transported, making contributions to international epidemic prevention cooperation. Since its launch in Yiwu on March 21, the first China-Europe freight train carrying international epidemic prevention materials has delivered 3.67 million pieces and 27,000 tons of international epidemic prevention materials in the first half of this year.
Second, to undertake the transfer of goods. When sea and air transport are affected by the epidemic to varying degrees, and more goods are transported and exported via the China-Europe freight train, the railway sector has made every effort to receive, transport and guarantee the goods. Total shipments reached 461,000 teU in the first half, up 41% from a year earlier.
Third, we will constantly improve transport efficiency. In view of the rising operation volume caused by the substantial growth of freight train volume, the port supervision departments should be coordinated to increase personnel strength, innovate the handover operation mode, strengthen the real-time tracking control of transportation and export organizations, and ensure the safety and smooth flow of port stations. We will give full play to the role of international coordination mechanisms, keep information unimpeded with railway departments of neighboring countries along the route, and coordinate with overseas railways in implementing the consolidation and export of three broad rail tracks and two trains, so as to jointly reduce the time limit for transport exports and improve the efficiency of transport and export.
