release time:2026/3/20

Xinhua News Agency, Beijing, March 19 (Reporter Wang Yueyang) - The reporter learned from the National Energy Administration on March 19 that the 71st meeting of the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Energy Working Group was held in Nanchang, Jiangxi Province, from March 18 to 19. China put forward three suggestions focusing on three priority directions: "high-quality universal energy service", "artificial intelligence + energy", and "Asia-Pacific energy collaborative governance".

First, we must adhere to inclusivity, advocating for the joint promotion of high-quality universal energy services in the Asia-Pacific region through inclusive processes, diversified technological paths, targeted empowerment, and close regional collaboration, so that the development achievements can benefit everyone in the Asia-Pacific. Second, we should accelerate innovation, advocating for the joint promotion of the integrated development and mutual empowerment of artificial intelligence and energy through the integration and alignment of development strategies, governance rules, and technical standards, forming a consensus on innovative development with regional characteristics and facing the future. Third, we must strengthen collaboration, advocating for the comprehensive improvement of the effectiveness, transparency, and resilience of energy governance through enhanced policy dialogue, information sharing, capacity building, and risk coordination, promoting the formation of a new pattern of regional cooperation featuring complementary advantages and coordinated development.

He Yang, Deputy Director of the National Energy Administration, stated that the Asia-Pacific region is a crucial engine driving global economic growth. It serves as both the epicenter of global energy consumption and the locomotive of global energy production and transformation, playing a pivotal dual role in the world's energy landscape. China has always been committed to promoting the establishment of a safe, resilient, and affordable Asia-Pacific energy system, and has contributed Chinese wisdom and solutions to the energy security, stability, and sustainable development of the Asia-Pacific region and beyond through practical actions.
