Tashkent, June 21 (Xinhua) -- Title: Chinese Enterprises Assist Uzbekistan in Green Transformation
Xinhua News Agency reporter Li Ao
As an important partner of cooperation between China and Central Asia, Uzbekistan is continuously deepening its cooperation with China in areas such as green development and infrastructure. Under the framework of the "the Belt and Road" initiative, the two sides worked together to promote a series of landmark projects and promote regional connectivity and sustainable development. In Uda, a number of green energy projects invested and constructed by Chinese enterprises are steadily advancing, forming a green energy construction matrix in the local area
Rows of solar photovoltaic panels from China are neatly laid out in the vast deserts of Ukashkadarya and Bukhara states. The U1GW photovoltaic project invested by China Energy Construction Overseas Investment Co., Ltd. (NEKEC Overseas Investment) is the first large-scale new energy project invested and constructed by Chinese enterprises in Central Asia after the first China China Asia Summit in 2023. It is also the largest photovoltaic project launched by Chinese enterprises in the region under the framework of the joint construction of the "the Belt and Road". At present, the project has achieved full capacity grid connection, with an annual power generation of up to 2.4 billion kilowatt hours.
Narzulayev is an engineer for the photovoltaic project, who has been working on the front line and responsible for operation and maintenance management. As a local employee, he deeply feels the significance of the project for Ukraine's green energy transformation, and he is proud to participate in this high standard Ukraine China cooperation project.
Nazarov, Senior Researcher at the National and Legal Research Institute of the Ukrainian Academy of Sciences, stated that the 1 GW photovoltaic project in Ukraine has contributed Chinese strength to the transformation of the country's energy structure. This project not only introduces advanced clean energy technology to the local area, but also injects new momentum into the local economic development. Especially under the promotion of the China Central Asia mechanism and the initiative of jointly building the "the Belt and Road", this project shows the great potential for cooperation between Uzbekistan and China in green transformation. In the future, the two sides will have broader space for cooperation in new energy, technology training, industrial chain support and other fields.
At present, Ukraine is continuously promoting its development in the field of green energy, and the overall direction is gradually shifting from single project construction to a more diversified and systematic development path. At the 4th Tashkent International Investment Forum held in June this year, Ukrainian President Mirziyoyev stated that in order to ensure the stability of the country's economy and energy resources, Ukraine is firmly committed to developing green energy. In the next five years, Ukraine will strive to increase the proportion of green energy to 54%.
As the first batch of grid side energy storage new energy projects invested by foreign investors in Uzbekistan under the background of the joint construction of the "the Belt and Road" initiative, the Fergana Oz Energy Storage Power Station and Andijan Lochi Energy Storage Power Station invested and constructed by the Energy Construction Overseas Investment have been put into commercial operation. After commercial operation, the two energy storage power stations can provide 4.38 billion kilowatt hours of power load regulation capacity for the Ukrainian power grid, effectively improving the stability and safety of the local power energy system and providing strong support for large-scale new energy grid integration.
Gulomov, 34 years old, is an engineer from Ufelgana Oblast and works at the Lugi Energy Storage Power Station in Andijan Oblast. He is responsible for equipment inspection, operation monitoring, and other work, and participates in Sino foreign team collaboration. He said that he has benefited greatly from working with Chinese engineers, learned advanced technology, and improved his professional competence. I am very proud to participate in this milestone project and hope to continue to devote myself to green energy construction in the future, contributing to the country's energy transformation
Turaganov, a political observer in Ukraine, stated that as related projects continue to advance, the scope of cooperation between Ukraine and China is also expanding, gradually extending from clean energy generation to a broader direction of energy security. During this process, both Ukraine and China have conducted fruitful explorations around the overall layout of energy development, laying the foundation for expanding more possibilities in green transformation in the future. Green energy is not only beneficial for improving the ecological environment, but also reflects the renewal of the national development concept.
Lin Xiaodan, Chairman of China Energy Construction Overseas Investment Co., Ltd., said that as an active practitioner of the high-quality "the Belt and Road" initiative, China has always adhered to the concept of sustainable development and tried to put the concept of green development through the whole life cycle of the project.
Kenzaev, Deputy Editor in Chief of the People's Daily in Ukraine, stated that the development of green energy in Ukraine is entering a new stage. This is not only an upgrade in the energy sector, but also marks a transformation in the country's overall development model, reflecting Ukraine's firm determination to pursue sustainable development. In this process, the deep participation of Chinese enterprises is particularly prominent, especially in the investment and construction of green energy projects such as solar energy and wind energy, which efficiently promotes the gradual establishment of a wider coverage and higher efficiency green energy matrix in Ukraine. These cooperation projects not only enhance Ukraine's energy security capabilities, but also inject new connotations and vitality into the pragmatic cooperation between the two countries in the context of the new era.
