On May 29th, the 2025 China Central Asia Media Cooperation Forum with the theme of "Silk Road Together, Media Partners: Building a Closer China Central Asia Community of Shared Future" was held in Astana, the capital of Kazakhstan. Kazakhstan President Tokayev sends a congratulatory letter to the forum. Alman Kirekbayev, the domestic policy and communication assistant to the President of Kazakhstan, read out a congratulatory letter.

This forum is jointly organized by People's Daily and the Kazakhstan Presidential Radio and Television Administration. More than 200 media representatives, experts, scholars, and business representatives from China and Central Asian countries attended the meeting. The attendees believe that media exchange is an important component of China Central Asia relations. Chinese and Central Asian media should grasp the trend of the times, expand cooperation ideas, share stories of good friendship and cooperation, and contribute wisdom and strength to building a closer China Central Asia community with a shared future.

The 2025 China Central Asia Media Cooperation Forum aims to deepen the integration and cooperation between China and Central Asian countries. Sun Weidong, Secretary General of the China Central Asia Mechanism, stated that in recent years, China's relations with Central Asian countries have become closer, political and strategic mutual trust has continued to deepen, and cooperation in various fields has comprehensively and deeply developed. Since the first China Central Asia Summit, the communication and cooperation between Chinese and Central Asian media have become closer, reaching out to the general public of various countries, effectively strengthening regional cooperation, and promoting people to people exchanges.

Yevgeny Kochetov, Deputy Minister of Culture and Information of Kazakhstan, stated that in recent years, we have witnessed increasingly close exchanges between Central Asian countries and China in the cultural and economic fields. In this context, media cooperation has increasingly become an important component of cooperation between Central Asian countries and China. Through regular exchanges and the implementation of joint media projects, people to people and cultural exchanges between countries have been expanding and reaching new heights. I believe that this forum will provide a good platform for further deepening cooperation and exchanging experiences.

Chinese Ambassador to Kazakhstan Han Chunlin stated that for many years, Chinese and Central Asian media have shared vivid stories of mutual understanding, opportunities, and common development, creating a favorable public opinion atmosphere for cooperation in various fields. Currently, China Central Asia cooperation continues to deepen and solidify, and the media should leverage their own advantages, sing the main theme of unity and cooperation, enhance mutual learning among civilizations, and write a more brilliant chapter for building a closer China Central Asia community with a shared future.

The President of the Kabar State News Agency in Kyrgyzstan, Meijerbek Shelmedaliev, stated that the Silk Road is not only a geographical route, but also a symbol of mutual respect, peaceful coexistence, and common development. In order to jointly tackle the new challenges of the digital age, we need to further strengthen cooperation, establish a joint fact checking mechanism platform, improve media literacy, develop professional exchanges, and continue to work hard in promoting information transparency and deepening bilateral dialogue. We look forward to and are committed to deepening cooperation among national information institutions and developing digital media under the framework of the "the Belt and Road" initiative.

During the forum, activities such as the "2025 China Central Asia Media Cooperation Forum Photo Exhibition" and the "China Central Asia Media High Quality Co construction of the the Belt and Road Joint Interview" were held successively, and the "the Belt and Road" News Cooperation Alliance promotion and the musical work "Smooth Sound of the Silk Road" were released at the forum.

Merat Berkmuladov, president of the Golden Century electronic newspaper in Turkmenistan, said that the joint construction of the "the Belt and Road" initiative not only promotes global development and security, but also promotes exchanges and mutual learning among different civilizations, injecting strong impetus into media cooperation. The media of Central Asian countries and China should jointly promote understanding, mutual trust, and friendship, and encourage media peers worldwide to seek consensus through cooperation, jointly address the challenges of the times, and achieve mutually beneficial development. Our common path is leading us towards a closer Central Asia China community with a shared future, "said Buick Muradov.

Wan Qizhou, Secretary of the Party Committee and Chairman of China Water Resources and Electric Power International Co., Ltd. of China Communications Construction Corporation, stated that he will take this forum as an opportunity to transform the vision of cooperation with Central Asian partners into practical and feasible action plans, and work with media friends from various countries to promote cultural exchanges and mutual learning.

Chang Fuquan, Deputy General Manager of China Petroleum Central Asia Russia Company, stated that every oil and gas field is a "scene" of media narrative, every energy cooperation is a "material" of civilization dialogue, and every builder is a "protagonist" of the Silk Road story. China Petroleum is willing to work together with partners and media from both sides, using energy as ink and media as pen, to add color and luster to the construction of a closer China Central Asia community with a shared future.
