More collaborative achievements are constantly emerging

A few days ago, the joint interview team of China Central Asian media to jointly build the "the Belt and Road" in high quality went to a car store of Arur Group in Almaty, Kazakhstan's largest automobile production and assembly enterprise, to experience the fruitful results of China Kazakhstan automobile cooperation on the spot. The exclusive store displays multiple Chinese brand cars such as Hongqi and Jetour. The highly modern body design and intelligent handling system have attracted media reporters from the joint interview team to experience the car one after another (see Figure ①, photographed by our reporter Li Yingqi).

In 2019, General Technology Group China Machinery Import and Export (Group) Co., Ltd. and Anhui Jianghuai Automobile Group Co., Ltd. jointly acquired 51% of the shares of Arul Group, ushering in a period of rapid development of mutually beneficial cooperation between the two parties. Arul Group's annual production and sales of automobiles have achieved significant growth year after year, with automobile production increasing from over 9000 in 2019 to nearly 100000 in 2024. Currently, it accounts for more than 60% of Kazakhstan's annual production of various types of vehicles, and its market share has consistently exceeded 40%. Chinese brand cars are becoming a common sight on the streets and alleys of Kazakhstan, entering more and more local car dealerships and widely favored by consumers.

The car is spacious, powerful, and turns smoothly... I believe this model is very competitive in Kazakhstan and even the entire Central Asian market, "said Ruslan Kenzaev, deputy editor in chief of Uzbekistan's People's Speech newspaper, after test driving a Jianghuai car pickup truck (see Figure 2, photographed by our reporter Chen Shangwen). In his view, the automotive manufacturing industry is now becoming a landmark area of cooperation between Central Asian countries and China. In Uzbekistan, BYD has built factories and new energy vehicles have achieved mass production. These production capacity collaborations are benefiting Central Asian countries, and more cooperation achievements are constantly emerging, "said Kenzaev.

 

In the view of Yelena Ruolobova, the president and editor in chief of Kyrgyzstan's "Speech Daily", the automobile manufacturing industry is an important pillar industry for the overall industrial development of the country, which helps to promote rapid economic development and create a large number of jobs. The continuous deepening of pragmatic cooperation between Central Asian countries and China in various fields such as automobile manufacturing will inject strong impetus into regional economic development.

Stanislav Oyun Bem, the head of strategic marketing and public relations at Arul Group, stated that in recent years, Arul Group has entered a new stage of strategic development, with continuous increase in production capacity, continuous enrichment of brand portfolio, and successful launch of multiple new car models in the market. We have established good cooperative relationships with our Chinese partners and achieved many gratifying results. In the future, we will continue to work hand in hand to make the cooperation achievements in the automotive field more beneficial to the people of Kazakhstan and even Central Asia
